Andover Sept 3d. 1797
Dear Sir,

  I wrote on the 30th Ulto. by your Sons, who left this place on that day, and were conveyed to Salem, in order to take
passage in the Schooner Sewall, Captn. Silver Masters, bound to Norfolk & Alexandria.
  The Captn. expected to have sailed in the afternoon of that day, but was prevented on that day & the next; on Friday he did not choose to sail. On Saturday,. I am informed he took his departure: he had then a very agreeable wind, which has continued this day; and should it continue as favorable, he will probably arrive at Norfolk before this reaches you and has every encourage-
ment of an agreeable passage which I hope will prove highly advantageous to Augustine.
  As Captn. Silver expected to tarry three or four days at Norfolk, perhaps it will be in your power to facilitate their
conveyance from that ·place; tho’ the Captain has promised to give them every attention in his power, and Providence permitting, to deliver them to the arms of a tender Parent.
  It will give me much pleasure to hear of their safe arrival and that Augustine has received that benefit from his
voyage which we have been encouraged to hope for.
  As I wrote more particularly by him, the principal object of this is to give you notice of the time & manner of the young
gentlemen’s. sailing; and I will now trouble no farther than to add that I am, with the best wishes for the happiness of yourself
